Wallbuster Poster
(5908)
In 1977, the Western Graphics Corporation released their Super Hero Wallbusters series of posters. The series featured comic book heroes from DC Comics (Batman & Robin, Superman Wonder Woman), and Marvel Comics (the Amazing Spider-Man and the Incredible Hulk), as well as Star Trek, Tarzan, Evel Knievel, Super Ape ( a King Kong knock-off) and of course Super Joe. Legendary comic artists Neal Adams and Dick Giordano did the artwork for many of these posters. All of the posters are difficult to find today.
The posters were large and measured 38" by 50". They had a central image usually surrounded by debris and blank word balloons. You could punch out the center image and cut out the debris and word balloons and put them on your wall to create the effect of the characters "busting through the wall."
The Super Joe poster was drawn by comic's legend John Buscema (he also did Spider-Man and the Hulk). It features the Super Joe Commander landing a punch on Gor with his the other hand set to deliver a second one! The Super Joe Commander is dressed in his traditional black jumpsuit with his gold power vest.
