Space Academy Figures

Through its subsidiary brand, Aviva, Hasbro utilized the Super Joe bodies for a line of figures based on the 1977-1979 syndicated Space Academy TV show.  The show featured the great Jonathan Harris from Lost in Space as the leader of a group of young space cadets of the Space Academy in the year 3732.  The toy line was initially an exclusive to the Woolworth’s chain and featured figures of Commander Gampu (Harris), Tee Gar, Chris, and Loki.  The Gampu, Chris and Tee Gar figures are Super Joe bodies with new heads resembling the actors from the show plus new light blue jumpsuits and boots.  The figures do not have the 1-2 punch feature and have an upper torso like Darkon.  The Loki figure is a child and does not use a Super Joe body.  Additionally, there are three unique uniform sets made for the Space Academy line.  One is black with a single red stripe and a silver chest area, another is light green with a blue and silver chest area, and the final one is red and has a gold chest area.
