How to Repair a Super Joe Figure

While we have not found a satisfactory method to recreate the joints to repair Super Joe figures, we have came across a quick and easy way to repair them. This method will allow you to have Super Joe figures that can be displayed and will hold various poses without damaging any of the original parts.  All of the Super Joes featured on this site have been repaired using this method.  So here is the quick and easy step by step photo guide to Super Joe repair.
Step 1
The items you will need.
A complete loose Super Joe figure
A set of replacement hands 
A pair of scissors 
A pick

The straw from a juice box

Step 2
Use the pick to remove any remaining joint material
from the arms and legs.

Step 3
Push the juice box straw into the
forearm as far as it will go.

Cut the straw just enough to fit into the upper bicep. Get a few straws
​so you can try a few lengths to
get it right.

Step 5
Push the forearm into the bicep and
​repeat for the other arm.

​Step 6
Place the straw into the upper thigh and cut it. Place it through the torso /crotch and push the other upper thigh onto the
​ other side.

Place the straw into the lower legs, cut and push onto the upper thighs.

​Step 8
Push the hands into the wrist. You can use a hair drier to warm the pegs so they will enter easier.

You now have a Super Joe who will stand on his own and hold a pose.

If any of the joints are loose, you can use plumber’s tape or painter’s tape to thicken the straw for a better grip.
